I walked through my home last week and I rounded up the 4 essentials that’ll keep your home organized this new year. Keeping my home organized is something I strive for all year round, but especially during the beginning of the year.
4 Essentials That’ll Keep Your Home Organized
These items are things that I have used for SEVERAL years and I 100% believe they help keep my home at bay when it comes to being organized. If I had to give up all other organizational products, I would totally be okay as long as I had these 4 items.
Lazy Susans
Lazy Susan’s aren’t just necessary in the kitchen. We have these in our pantry, our spice cabinet, and bathrooms. I love how easy it makes it so I can access different jars in our pantry. They are also great in bathrooms to store your perfumes, body lotions, and skincare products.
If you have taller cabinets I recommend you use the double-tiered lazy susans, they also work great in bathroom cabinets. I love the single-tiered lazy susans for our spice cabinet.
This is probably my favorite item out of the 4 Essentials That’ll Keep Your Home Organized.
Stackable Shoe Rack
We do not wear shoes inside our home. One of my biggest pet peeves is coming home and seeing a cluster of shoes in front of the door and having to find my way to the doorway. This shoe shelf was a very inexpensive fix to our shoe situation. This is something that we use DAILY, so if you take your shoes off before entering your home, I highly recommend getting a shoe rack.
So that is a great solution for our garage shoe situation, but what about the entryway of your home? Great question! We have a credenza that is a beautiful piece of furniture. When our friends and family come over, they place their shoes inside. We can close the cabinet and never see the shoes all over the floor. It is a great fix.
If you wear your shoes in your home and have your shoes in your closet, I would recommend using plastic shoe boxes. The only reason I would say to get rid of the original shoe boxes that your shoes come in is that cardboard oftentimes carries silverfish bugs. You do not want these critters all over your home.
Drawer Containers for Spare Items
If you’re shopping at Costco, you probably stock up on several items to avoid going to the grocery store often. I like to take everything out of boxes because cardboard can give you silverfish (if you don’t know what silverfish are I’ll leave this here for you). I use these containers to store all spare items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, lotions, razors, etc.
These drawers are also a great solution for makeup that you use on a daily basis. I keep my drawers in my closet. I love these drawers because they are see-through and I know exactly what I am reaching for. And they are compact and stackable.
Label Maker
This is the one thing that changes everything. This allows me to know what is in a bin without having to open it and go through it. I bought my label maker years ago so it is a bit outdated, but it works wonderfully and it gets the job done.
We labeled our spices, home decor storage bins, and spare drawer containers and it’s been especially helpful with Liam’s baby clothes bins. If you don’t have a labeler, I promise it will make your life so much easier.
There are many ways to organize a home. These are just the 4 Essentials That’ll Keep Your Home Organized- that work for me. Do you have any other items that make running your home easier for you?
